Based on projections made 7/14/94 OPN's expenses for August:

The $1000 for moving phone lines is a reserve for moving the computer
system to the new LCC location.  Once there, we'll probably have to pay
about $5/month more per phone line, but machine room rent will be
free.  The $900 for travel may appear questionable to some, but the
founders insist that we send a small team to visit similar community
network(s) elsewhere in the U.S. and/or Canada in order to better plan
for growth and this is generally held to be a wise and prudent use of
the founder's funds.  Public relations are partly expenses related to
giving presentations to local government organizations (equipment
rental, etc) and other outreach projects.  The salaries will actually
not begin accruing until September 1, but the board has completed the
hiring process.  It is official that Clif and Penny will be OPN's first
two paid staff members.  Please join us in congratulating them both.

As for income, our projections were anticipating 3716.67 from member
contributions with the rest of the money to come from the founders.
Unfortunately, member contributions were running rather slow until
Friday when over $400 came in.  Last month member contributions ended up
$500 below projections.  This month, I'm hopeful that we'll reach the
$3716.67 target, if we all tighten our belts and pull together (R.P.
inspired cliche')
