ZZZZZZZ....

Ahhh... what a lovely summer it is.  Enough to make a person wonder
what you'd ever need computers for :-)  Paul went on vacation.  I went
on vacation.  Clif took an EFN link out to the Country Fair and unwound
for the better part of a week.  Even some of our more notable gadflies
seem to have taken most of the month off.  I suppose everybody's been
kicking back a little... except Penny who's been tracking monthly
contributions.  I've only sent out one other fundraising message this
month and, YIPES!, we're about $1500 behind last month's contributions
and it's already the 27th of the month!  So, it's time for me to get it
in gear...


PRIORITY ACCESS MORE ENTICING THAN EVER

We now have over seven phone lines reserved for priority access users,
so those of you who have priority access should be noticing that it's
significantly easier to connect lately (since the 25th that is).  There
are also eleven lines available for general use so regular access should
also be better than ever.  If you've never tried priority access, now
would be a good time to send in a $7 or more contribution and check it
out.


EFN SYSTEM IS COOL

We finally moved the EFN computer out of the cave (where it reached 97
degrees recently) into an extra room we've rented which is air-conditioned.
This extra cooling will allow us to turn on more disk drives and offer
more disk space to members.  A volunteer disk tsar to manage allocation
of disk space among members is needed.


1000th EFN MEMBER MILESTONE REACHED

Yes, there's nothing like an idea whose time has come.  We're growing
quickly and we need to be able to rely on steady member support in order
to make sound planning decisions for the future.  When revenue drops from
one month to the next by almost half it can really hurt.  Next year, we
can plan for some summer slack, but for now please consider sending in an
extra contribution this month to help keep us on track until the weather
forces people indoors and on-line ;-)
