FLASH !! WE ARE OREGON PUBLIC NETWORKING !  WE ARE ON THE INTERNET !

I just telnet'ed from the UO (net address 128.223.8.8) to EFN (net
address 198.68.17.1) and "talked" to Clif.  At last, we are on the
Internet.  Clif's working on getting a nameserver so you can use
machine's domain names instead of the numbers above.  Things are
happening!  If you've ever said to yourself, "EFN is nice, but I don't
think I'll contribute until it's a *real* internet service" well it's
time.

Lane OnLine and Eugene Free Net will have a new name: Oregon Public
Networking (OPN).  Though Lane county will be our first priority, we
will play a role in much of Southwestern Oregon and may cooperate with
local organizations on a Statewide basis.  Clif is already helping to
get a Free Net system set up in Roseburg.

We're still about $350 from our goal for April, so please help us out
if you haven't already.
