INTERNET CONNECTION SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY

According to USWest, EFN's connection to the internet is scheduled to
go live  March 30th.  (That's $500/month from here on).  EFN will
charge a monthly fee (not finalized yet) for ftp (internet file
transfer), telnet (internet remote login) and other internet
commands/services.  Details soon.


MORE PHONE LINES

A new phone pole was installed outside the EFN "headquarters" March
10th, clearing the way for additional phone lines.  Because of a four
week lead time to get a 50-pair cable strung, we've gone ahead and
ordered five more phone lines even though we aren't certain we'll have
modems for all of them when they're delivered.  We're counting on
donations to reach $1000 this month to put a 14400 bps modem on each
new line.  At half-time, we're half way there.  Please keep those
donations coming.  We feel it's vitally important to double both the
population of EFN and monthly donations to be able to cover our new,
higher operating expenses.
